On June 1, 2022, the CEO of Chase Bank – Jamie Dimon – warned employees of the bank to “brace yourself” for an economic hurricane. This caused quite a stir among government policy makers, investors and consumers given the powerful role that the bank played – and plays – in global commerce. If anyone had their finger on the pulse of global conditions, it was Jamie Dimon. Alas, the storm never hit which lends credence to the fallacy of making decisions based upon faulty forecasts. Better to prepare for varying conditions and be positioned for varying outcomes – in both consumer, business and investment planning. Our Signals remain unchanged.
