The Victor

Bob Bilkie, my husband and co-conspirator in both my home and work life, wrote a blog in late March regarding my mom’s health and her fighting spirit.  As a recap, my mom was admitted to St. Joseph Mercy hospital in Ann Arbor in early February.  She fought her way through five abdominal surgeries and a debilitating stroke, for the most part without family by her side, due to the restrictions placed upon society at large because of the Covid-19 pandemic.  At one point, her health had deteriorated to the point that the family was considering hospice care, but my mom does not believe in giving up.  Tuesday night, she returned home.  She still has a long road ahead of her, but she made it!

We will make it too.  Life may not return to the “normal” that we were used to before the pandemic began, but life is what we make of it.  Choose well!

I love you Mom!!
