Electricity Update

On May 24, 2016, we posted a blog discussing some of the issues relating to the generation of electricity.  We opined that, “based on current technology, nuclear appears to be the only scalable alternative to fossil fuels.”

According to a recent Wall Street Journal article, some of the country’s most influential environmental groups are softening their longstanding opposition to nuclear power.

This change is lowering one of the biggest political hurdles facing the nuclear power industry in the U.S., and comes at a critical time, as several financially struggling reactors are set to shut down.

Investors should take note.  Things change.  This could be the beginning of a major shift in the outlook for electrical generation.  While we are far from a major embrace of any kind of power generation, other than renewable, environmental group leaders are now seeing existing generators as a bridge to renewable and alternative energy.

All comments and suggestions are welcome.
