Politics and Investing

We are probably all subject to becoming excessively overheated or dismayed at the antics of our elected officials.  Politics can lead to highly emotional reactions, and that’s probably OK, for the most part.

Investing is a very different story.  Successful investing requires an analytical approach and an unemotional assessment of the potential investment’s value proposition.

This is not to say that you should ignore politics.  Understand what is going on.  Be sure to look at both sides.  If you watch CNN, give FOX a peek.  If you generally read the Wall Street Journal, be aware of what the New York Times is saying.  Understanding both sides of the issues is important in the investment decision process.

All comments and suggestions are welcome.
